NAECO have developed unique eco textiles and processes since 2014. We work holistically and we ensure each process is circular with thought and care put into each stage of the development. Our textile production is based on science, social and environmental awareness and problem solving.

Despite growing public awareness of the problem, the rate at which our societies produce plastic waste is not relenting, and there is so much already out there. That’s why we believe we need to rethink how we view plastic waste; a material resource, not just pollution.
Not only is our specific RPET extremely durable it is also ideal for clothing applications as we have engineered it to be water repellant, sweat wicking and stain repellant.

recycled plastic
Plastic is collected from a number of sources including beach cleans, ocean cleans and post consumer waste streams.
Plastic is sorted and then baled before being crushed into thin flakes. The flakes are in turn transformed into granules through a hot air process, they are then dried and projected into high temperature tubes to form a thick liquid.
This paste then passes into a dye filter and ends in a strainer creating filaments. These filaments solidify through their contact with air, they are then drawn on hot metal rollers to realign polyester molecules perfectly.
Produced yarns are used to made the best-quality items for you.
Producing RPET uses over 50% less energy than PET fabrics.
Around a third less CO2 is produced in comparison to PET production.
Using rPET reduces our dependence on petroleum and other natural resources as a raw material for PET.
Full 360 circular clothing model - we recycle all clothing that is brought back to us which then go into further clothing applications closing the loop.

Bamboo cotton is made from regenerated bamboo fibres. Although it is slightly pricier than other cellulose fibres, it is an exceptional fabric to wear due to its natural antimicrobial properties and breathable nature.
Since bamboo is one of the fastest-growing plants on earth, it is one of the most sustainable resources discovered to date. It can grow up to 119cm in just 24 hours and does not require replanting after harvesting - it simply continues growing in a self-sustaining way. This incredible plant uses only one-third of the water it would take to make the same amount of organic cotton fabric. Bamboo is also astonishingly resistant and inherently antimicrobial, which eliminates the need to use heavy pesticides or fertilisers.
Our Recycled Organic Cotton is made from the scraps taken from the cutting room floor. It comes from any excess material produced during the production of yarn, fabrics and textile products, e.g. selvage from weaving and fabric from factory cutting rooms. This fabric is sorted, cleaned and respun into new fibres and fabrics. Recycling one tonne of organic cotton can save 765 cubic metres (202,000 US gal) of water.

It is made from manufacturer waste rather than consumer waste. Which means the scraps, rejects and trimmings that never make it into the customer’s hands have been given new life and repurposed into something useful, rather than being trashed.
While organic cotton requires a great deal of energy and water to produce - as much as 660 gallons of water, pre-consumer recycled cotton requires much less. And while even organic cotton can be subject to the vast wastage that goes into garment production – through which up to 20% of fabric is wasted – this pre-consumer approach attempts to help correct this issue. By recovering the cotton scraps leftover from the creation of other products like T-shirts this model helps to minimise waste and divert products away from landfill in the process.
We teamed up with THERMORE® to produce our insulation. The new Ecodown® range is the only synthetic product in the market to be made from 100%, post-consumer plastic bottles. This allows the reuse of a considerable number of bottles, which would have otherwise ended their useful life as waste in a landfill. This is directly in line with our messaging and the outer fabrics we produce from 100%, post-consumer plastic.

THERMORE® ECODOWN® Contains 100% recycled fibres from recycled PET bottles. Every jacket NAECO® produces that is insulated with Ecodown® allows recycling of up to 10 PET bottles in its lining.
The general rule says: The thicker and the heavier a padding – the warmer. But this is only partly true. A significant influence on the insulation capacity is created by the right choice of fibers. Lower denier fibers are able to capture more air which results in better insulation. The insulation has an incredible high loft rating of 90/10 making it fantastic in cold temperatures giving it an impressive fill power of over 600. This makes this the perfect ethical alternative for garment fill.
Outerwear is often subjected to hard use and extreme conditions. In addition to normal wear and tear, this may also require that garments are washed or dry cleaned to restore their original appearance. Thermore® recognises that the ability to withstand these washing/drying cycles and trips to the dry cleaner are of key importance. When it comes to performance, durability equals warmth in both the short term and long term. Our products are thoroughly tested for resistance to machine washing and drying. We expect our products to perform at the same high level over the life of the garment.
Ecodown® has Low denier fibers to help maximise warmth. This means we are able to use a lighter insulation and still have superior protection from the cold. Our jackets are 50% lighter than non ethical down-filled jackets and perform at the same levels. This gives far superior freedom of movement than any other jackets.
